The City of Miami Gardens host its annual Jazz in the Gardens music festival at the Hard Rock Stadium. Rickey Smiley returns another year to host the annual music festival. The festival kicked off Friday night with an opening night party featuring Sugar Hill and Gang. Jazz in the Gardens is a two-day festival that takes place over the weekend. The festival is adult friendly and commends several genres of music ranging from Jazz to R&B music. Jazz in the Gardens also promotes poetry, and a range of arts. This is the 12th year for the festival which gives natives a platform to take center stage that could lead to catching the ears of music executives. Both days drew in over 50,000 people from all over the world. Saturday’s lineup featured: Stephanie Mills, Teddy Riley and Friends included (Jagged Edge, En Vogue, Douge Fresh, Guy, Blackstreet, and Bobby Brown). Sunday’s lineup included: Tye Tribbett, The Ojay’s, Brandy, and Lionel Richie.
